My Students

Our school is a diverse, loving community filled with students from all different religions, ethnic backgrounds, and learning styles.

Our school is a Title 1 school in an urban community.

Our teachers work hard each day to provide a quality and fair education to all 600 students, with limited resources.

Many of our students have special needs, are English Language Learners, or require extra support to meet grade level benchmarks. Teachers spend most of their own money to create, out of the box, creative ways to help every student, no matter what their background or learning need, become lifelong learners.

My Project

We hope to give students a space for less structured learning while promoting education of earth science. These tables will provide a comfortable and safe place for students to work outside independently and as a group. Studies have shown that students of all ages can benefit from learning outdoors.

We hope to create a place where learning is fun, minds are free, and nature is at students' fingertips.

These tables will be first phase of the courtyard renovation. This will give teachers the opportunity to bring students outside to explore nature, participate in STEM activities and learn in the fresh air. Over 600 students, PreK-5th, will benefit from this learning space.
