My Students

My class consists of nearly 95% of scholars who are reading below grade level. Many of my students come from homes in which the parents are uneducated themselves.

Our school is a Title I school that offers free and reduced-price lunches to nearly 100% of our students.

School lunch is the only meal many of our students receive during the day. Our school is in a critical state. We are a part of the lowest 300 schools in terms of reading proficiency.

My Project

Imagine exploring a world deep under the sea, maybe going on a nature hunt and finding precious gems. If that is not good enough, maybe a relaxing day at the beach would do just fine, or even better an exciting super hero war. Living an adventurous life sounds great, but reading about it in a book is even better. Books help students take journeys to places or experiences that they have never had or seen before. Books brings life into a child's world, when there maybe a sense of darkness. Beyond all else books help to increase reading and comprehension levels of students. By having a leveled library, you are sure to have books that each and every student can enjoy no matter what their reading level may be.

Help bring the exciting world of exploring and learning into our classroom through a leveled classroom library.

Each student would be able to have exciting books on their personal reading level. As students increase in their reading levels, there are still books to explore. Please help the journey of imagination begin in our very own leveled classroom library. I can't wait to share the journeys my students will take.
