Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My scholars have a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Our school is classified as title one but you would not know it because our scholars step into a place where effort in learning is celebrated. Our learning community empowers our scholars and leads them to believe one true reality; that they are our main inspiration for all our efforts and creativities. I admire their genuine values of friendship, love for their families, and effort into every project I introduce.
Most of my students are English learners and hands on activities enrich their intellect.
They are able to make connections to core content while enthusiastically experiencing making projects come to life.
My Project
Our first week of returning to campus is not over yet for us, yet, I am inspired to make our school a beautiful safe space for our students to learn. Our little garden has been neglected for just about a year and a half. Impressionably, a few vegetables and herbs have been overgrown but sadly many have dried up. One area that needs to be safer for my students is the pathway around our garden. Our pathway is getting full of water and very muddy.
As we celebrate our new reunion and look forward to a year full of meaningful learning, your donations will provide a safe space.
My students are looking forward to having some lessons outside in our garden. Having this space could make us worry less about transmitting germs to one another and focus on learning about our natural world.
I will place these buckets of mulch around our dirt and muddy areas so that my students can plant new seeds and plants safely.
