Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Currently, my students get to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting in scoop chairs with clipboards, or sitting on the floor with a clipboard. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given alternatives to traditional seating. They are almost always more engaged and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
The stools are a popular choice for the kids in my class and will allow some movement. The ottomans will make for a comfy alternative for students that find the stools too hard. They also offer storage space for many of our things.
The headphones will help the students learn to read. We use Lexia Core 5 in class and many students cannot afford headphones. These headphones will make it possible for all to learn on their Chromebooks effectively.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my student's work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
