Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income school, my students are faced with many economic and emotional challenges both in and out of the classroom. My campus is a Title I school where the majority of the students are considered at risk. My class consists of bilingual students that are learning to speak, write and spell in English and Spanish. Although, many of my students struggle with the English language they come to school every day eager to learn. Despite their challenges, they work hard to achieve academic success!
My Project
Each month students work on projects to enhance their learning. Some students use computers to type essays and add colorful text features, while other students create display boards to present to the rest of the class.
I believe my students deserve to see their work come to life "In Living Color" by using a color printer.
My students have asked me over and over to print their research work and data in color to display them on their boards. Unfortunately, our school does not have the resources to allow us to print these materials in color.
A color printer and toner would allow students to print out their projects and create display boards so that they can show their classmates and everyone else in the school what they are learning.
