Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The school I work in is considered a high-needs, low-income school with 85% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. Located in the East Village of Manhattan, New York, each student from my class comes from very diverse backgrounds. Our classroom is part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services offered to students who need them. As educators, we know that students learn in many different ways, and it benefits them to learn visually. Unfortunately, our school cannot provide classrooms with colored printers which could support the individual needs of each student in the classroom. A colored printer would enhance learning in our fourth-grade classroom.
Allowing students to see their work come to life by using vibrant images and text across each subject area would benefit learning and increase student engagement.
Our school funding is limited, and we really appreciate all the support we can get!
My Project
In order to produce the best work and learning environment for our classroom, students should understand that every piece of work that they complete has value and is important. The students in this class would benefit greatly from having a colored printer. We would love to have the opportunity to see works come to life by being able to create and add vibrant pictures and text! In addition, the additional ink would be greatly appreciated for when the original cartridges run out.
Our school believes that students benefit greatly from project based learning, therefore, printing in color will give the students in this class the opportunity to see their work come to life.
Allowing students to print in color will make publishing their work a more exciting experience!
