My school is located in Midtown Manhattan. I teach in a 2nd grade ICT (Integrated co-teaching) classroom which consists of students of all different abilities and cultures who learn in different ways. My co-teacher and I strive to provide a classroom full of materials that provide an organized, clean, and fun place for ALL students to learn and grow.
We want our students to continue to be as excited to come to school, as we are.
Everyday provides new challenges and victories that help our students become successful throughout the school year. We believe that all our students are unique individuals with various learning styles. As teachers, it is our job to figure out how they learn best. Our 2nd graders have different interests and personalities that create a classroom community that fosters learning.
My Project
We want our students to have the right tools and materials to succeed in 2nd grade. By providing students with new materials such as, markers, crayons, and play dough helps to give them an opportunity to learn in a fun and individualized way. Having cushions in our library and at the rug provides students a comfortable place to read and do their work. They look forward to sitting on a cushion, instead of at their desk or on the floor.
With the use of these materials, we will be able to provide the best education that we can to help our students grow.
