This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the largest amount of students in my classroom than any other room at my school. I am currently teaching 31 first-graders, in a Title I school, located in a high poverty and high crime area, of North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch.
Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have three special education students and four ESL (English as a Second Language students) in my classroom. Six of the students in my classroom have an in-class social worker.
My Project
For this project, I am hoping to get an iPad in order to listen to videos about how to teach Financial Literacy.
In addition to getting an iPad, I am also hoping to get a financial literacy book and money games that will allow me to become a better teacher of Financial Literacy.
There are many wonderful education videos and websites that will allow me to become better educated in Financial Literacy. If I am better prepared in this subject, my students will become better educated too.
After I learn more about Financial Literacy, I will have my students read books and play games about this subject. Thanks so much for your support.
