My Students
My first graders come to school full of energy and ready to conquer the world. My job is to keep them motivated and to develop critical thinkers. Each child learns differently and part of my job is to find out how to reach them. Some are visual learners, some auditory learners and some learn by hands-on activities. We need to figure out how to reach all learners. My students are sweet and eager to learn. They are motivated and want to be successful students; they just need the opportunity.
My Project
My students need to learn the different ways to count money. They need to know a quarter can also be five nickels. These puzzles will teach them those objectives. They will learn to count and money equivalency in a fun and hands on way.
Financial literacy will teach them to be responsible and to count and save their money.
The Producers and Consumers Activities will teach them in a hands-on way how to earn and spend this money. This social studies standard will also be met through this project. This will be the first step in producing bright, financially literate students.
