My Students
Our first grade is comprised of 26 amazing students, that are very creative and eager to learn, many of whom come from bilingual households and receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students are smart, spontaneous and creative.
They are eager to learn new concepts and apply it in their reading, writing and math skills. They are curious and continuously question things. Many of them come from a low socioeconomic status. The face different struggles at home that my prevent them to succeed; however, I want to be that person that teaches them that with hard work and dedication you can be someone in life. I want to inspire them and be there as a support.
My Project
The materials chosen will help my students to keep their reading and math centers organized. The teacher organizer book bins set will be used to put their reading group books in one place. They can have access to them in a prompt manner when it is time to read. The soft seats will be for them to find a quiet spot to read and be comfortable. The magnetic math place value will allow my students to understand visually how to add and subtract tens and ones. Also, the Turn-In-Work-Organizer will help students know where to place their completed work.
These materials will be essential for our daily centers.
My students will get more organized and be ready to start their centers on time. We are working on how to be organized and make reading enjoyable.
