Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently fourth teach in a very low income school where 100% of my students are minority and receive free lunch.
My school does not have a literacy closet. So, students have very limited access to actual literature. Students who are able to read novels have a higher comprehension level.
I need 30 copies of Little House on the Prairie. I plan to use this book as a basis to my social studies unit. Students will learn about pioneer traveling and people that explored the Americas. Students will be able to relate fiction stories to history.
Your help will ensure that my students have access to quality novels. My students will be extremely happy to have novels that relate to literature.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
