This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarteners are full of energy and have a love of learning. They enjoy doing hands-on activities, and I am constantly trying to find ways to make learning fun for them. My school is a Title I school. I teach an Inclusion program where my learners vary in skills and abilities. The divide this year is greater due to the fact that they were remote for portions of the year as a result of COVID-19. My students love to come to school, have fun and learn. They are excited by the tiniest things in our classroom, and make every day a great day in kindergarten.
My Project
Having materials for learning centers would help my students be able to work independently while doing challenging, high-interest, hands-on work. This would also allow the other students to receive more individualized attention from the teachers in the room. Before COVID-19, each center could have 4 kids at it. Now, each student needs their own learning center. Unfortunately, I do not have enough centers to keep all my students engaged and foster independent learning.
My Project
These learning games will give my students the opportunity to have fun while they learn. The materials will help my students increase their math, reading and fine-motor abilities. While some of the students are working independently playing the learning games, the other students will get the chance to have individualized attention from the teachers in the room.
I chose high-interest games from Lakeshore Learning Store that involve movement, fine-motor and creativity which will enhance their learning skills.
I am so excited to see their faces light up when they get the chance to play these games.
