This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help provide the students at our school with flexible seating to learn!
Each day, our students come into school with such excitement, it becomes infectious!
They are excited and ready to learn despite obstacles they have overcome just to attend that day. They are optimistic and fun-loving students. They have learned how to navigate through our building and persevere. They are grateful for the opportunity to learn in an encouraging, caring environment that supports their many modalities of learning.
My elementary school is a Title I school that provides school supplies and many outreach programs to struggling students and families. We put our students first with confidence that we, as educators, are doing the best for our students with what we are provided through government and state funding.
My Project
Do you work from your kitchen, living room, or dining room? Most of us do. Flexible seating is the new normal. My project takes that concept and applies it to our elementary building.
These Portable Yoga Ball Donut seats will be used as flexible seating in classrooms throughout our school building.
They will allow students the flexibility of learning in different areas of classrooms. Over many years of teaching, I have facilitated learning through centers. My colleagues also join me in this philosophy.
Flexible seating learning centers provide students an opportunity to leave their desks and move freely to each learning center. These Yoga Ball Donut seats will provide personal learning areas which will help them complete the learning centers.
