Learning, Growing, and Succeeding One Book at a Time!
Help me give my students books including a class set as well as the books my students will need to read so that they are able to participate in Battle of the Books (a reading program/competition).
As the new school year approaches, I am ecstatic to meet and start teaching my incoming 4th graders! Each of my students will have something unique to bring to the class and I can't wait to learn from and about each one! I love having the opportunity to teach these fourth graders and to watch them blossom into the students they want to be.
As in the words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that you read, the more things you will know; the more that you learn, the more places you'll go." The books that I receive from this project will give my students the opportunity to learn new things and go to "new places." The class set of books will give my class the chance to dive into a novel, dissect it as a class, work on different reading skills/strategies, and will grow together as a class.
The books from this project will also allow each of my students to have the chance to participate in Battle of the Books. This is a competition held between the different grade levels. All of my students will have access to the books they need to read for the competition. Reading is critical for each of my students and encouraging them to participate in this competition will not only get them reading but will help them grow their skills.
