Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. They all come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.
In my Bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects like reading, writing, math and science.
My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.
My Project
In first grade, students must learn many states required objectives. Some of these objectives include grammar.
It is extremely important that my students have the opportunity to daily learn and practice grammar.
In order to do so my students need resources that will give them the opportunity to learn and practice grammar. This past school year I had the opportunity to use these daily sentence correction journals with my former students. My former students learned a lot through the use of these journals. They were really successful in their learning.
Therefore, I know that the daily sentence correction journals will provide my new students the support that they need in grammar. These journals will provide my students the opportunity to learn about letter capitalization, punctuation, spelling and verb tenses. Therefore, I do ask for your support in order to receive these great journals that will greatly benefit my students.
