Help me give my students opportunities to learn functional math skills and literacy skills. These life long skills will make a huge difference in each of their lives!
Students in the life skills classroom in my building are developing skills that will encourage them to become productive members of society one day. Some of these skills are skills that can be hidden in our everyday academic activities. Learning to divide aids in folding and organizing laundry, learning to multiple assists in carrying out the steps in a recipe, learning addition supports the use of money and learning subtraction boosts the ability to figure out elapsed time. The math kits, phonics sets, and comprehension and fluency materials I am requesting facilitate the ability to learn these necessary everyday skills.
