Hobbies are often overlooked in the school setting, but studies show that people who have hobbies are more likely to manage anxiety and depression better than those who don't have hobbies. Additionally, having a hobby can enhance well-being and improve social connections. I'd like to give my students a variety of experiences to help them develop skills to give them a sense of pride in themselves. Students who have skills that they're proud of are more likely to have higher self-esteem than those who don't develop skills and hobbies.
My goal is to have regular fun learning days where students can develop skills that can lead to a lifetime of health and wellness.
We can use wireless headphones for listening to music, bracelet, and charms to make our very own bracelets. We will use portable fans and heaters, and blankets to stay comfortable during our fun learning days. We will use a suitcase to keep all our materials together and for easy transport when we want to take our activities outside.
Providing students with identity-affirming resources like a new skill or hobby will help them develop their self-esteem and give them something to be proud of. It's essential to give students a lot of choices so they can find the skills that resonate with them. Thanks for partnering with me to support ALL of my students!
