Learning Fun With Secret Stories!

Help me give my students engagement and ownership as we learn Phonics rules through Secret Stories posters, actions and videos.

My Students

I am a first-grade inclusion teacher in a Title I, a public charter school in Georgia. My class is filled with vibrant, eager learners who require a variety of ways to learn. We have many students that have previously been retained, have IEP’s and most of our students are performing below grade level at this time.

My students face many challenges each day and come from low-income families.

For many of our students, this classroom is their safe place and the teachers are their role models. I want to make my students feel welcomed, appreciated, loved, and know that they can do anything they put their minds to!

My Project

The Secret Stories Phonics kit and Phonics Flash Cards will be used daily to activate the social emotional learning channels with multi-sensory reading instruction. The kit includes everything necessary for effective phonics instruction. Whimsically colored decorative square phonics posters, phonics book, brain teaser blending cards, and phonics song download. The flash cards include a mini set of the posters with the “secrets” on the back to use in whole group and in small group instruction. The digital card will help me add more activities that can differentiate this kit even further!
