Learning Front and Center

My students need folder games and other language arts games for our to make our centers more engaging. They also need math manipulatives like dominoes and clocks.

My Students

Help us learn front and "center" at small group centers for reading and math! We have limited materials, but my students love and learn with centers everyday. They love the centers so much, we need more materials to make more activities for them to learn from!

My students come from homes that do not allow them to have very many experiences.

Allowing students to get up from their seats and have hands on experience with manipulatives will motivate them to keep wanting to learn. We are an inclusion classroom and my students have many different life skills they need to learn as well as learning regular second grade academics. Centers help my students learn how to problem solve and communicate with our students to learn and create. Having these materials for our centers will give my students the opportunity to get up and learn hands on and well as improve their social and other life skills. Please help our class!

My Project

My students need vocabulary, grammar, and writing activities to use at centers as well as magnetic letters for forming words. They also need math manipulatives to provide them with visuals for the various math concepts we learn throughout the year. We are asking for dominoes, counters, geometric plastic shapes, flash cards, play money, and stamps to help us better understand what we learn in math and have hands on experience to reinforce what we learn. With these materials, my class will be able to get up from their seats and go to various centers to reinforce and reteach concepts they have learned in class. Having a class with a wide range of abilities, it is sometimes difficult to get reinforcement and acceleration to the students who need it. Centers allow those students extra practice and allow me to meet with small groups at the same level and reinforce or acceleration our standards.

These materials are so very important in insuring my students the best education and exposure to information possible.

They will learn so much using these materials and be able to carry on what they learned in their centers with them for numerous years to come. Many of my students struggle with social skills and having materials for centers is really going to help improve and social and communication skills. These materials will impact ALL of my students GREATLY!
