This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a group of 22 lively 7 year olds. A lot of them are new to the country and are getting accustomed to a new home and school life. Our different backgrounds make us a unique classroom.
Our days are filled with stories and adventure.
They love to tell stories about their country and all the fun things they miss. This year I intend to use those wonderful stories to build a good writing foundation. Our main focus will be literacy since a lot of them are still learning how to read and write.
My Project
The document camera and magnatiles will make a world of difference in delivering my lessons while students learn from home. Our school just went fully remote and a document camera will help me make my lessons clear. My group is still learning the English language and need visuals in order to understand concepts being taught. They are used to having pictures, objects and videos to help them grasp new skills and concepts. These materials will help me bring our classroom to their homes and make the transition of blended learning into remote learning a lot smoother.
