My Project
My Pre-K class is comprised of students from various cultural backgrounds. For example, we have students from Guyana, China, Mexico, Ecuador and more! Therefore, I wanted my classroom library to represent my students' vast backgrounds. Ultimately, I want to build their confidence through using literature that mirrors their experiences. I want my students to be exposed to cultures around the world and to see themselves in my classroom.
My students are curious and excited to learn new things. Each day, my students like to visit our classroom and we cherish our daily activities. Name recognition, letter recognition, phonemic awareness and phonics are concepts that I would like to teach my students this year.
