Learning Financial Literacy

Help me give my students tote bags as a way to learn financial literacy and working with the community through opening a store.

My Project

Fundraising allows children to feel a sense of pride in ownership of themselves. It empowers children by giving them the ability to control their own destinies, in a sense. We wanted to fundraise by running a community school store.

My students will benefit from the experience and pride of raising funds for this unforgettable experience and the importance of community.

This activity will make my students feel as if they are more in control of their lives. Making personalized items such as personalized tote bags as a fundraiser gives my students the opportunity to raise money for a field trip and ownership of their accomplishments. It will enable students to work with money and customers. Learning to work with others and stepping out of the box will not only be a lesson in finance but also in social and emotional health.
