This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third-grade students attend a rapidly expanding school, which continues to grow. It offers a rigorous academic environment with teachers that are willing to go above and beyond for their students. They are eager to use new technology, provide exciting learning activities and put in all their effort into learning! Pinecrest Glades is an AdvancED STEM Certified school which encompasses qualities and components vital to creating and sustaining superior, student-centered STEM teaching and learning programs. In addition, our students have clear expectations for mastery of 21st century skills
Our hardworking students are tomorrow's leaders; they are given high expectations to excel upon.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, especially low-income and English as second language households. They take advantage of all the opportunities provided to them.
My Project
With this requested HP Chromebook laptop, I will teach Financial Literacy to my students. Students will complete various online age-appropriate interactive assignments.
The Chromebook will be utilized for students to engage in online activities and games to reinforce the financial literacy concepts taught in class.
Having access to the internet and a Chromebook in our classroom will help me to keep my lessons current, allow me teach beyond the classroom walls, and allows me to engage students using a format that students enjoy. Teaching financial responsibility and literacy helps students at a young age understand the value of money and the economy.
Scholastic has amazing, age-appropriate financial literacy lessons and games for students to engage in and learn about the value of money through literacy. The Chromebook will allow students to use the site in our class to learn about financial literacy.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
