This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina where 100 percent of our scholars receive free breakfast and lunch. We serves scholars from primarily disadvantaged backgrounds and over 90% of our student population is comprised of minorities!
My students are unique!
They are the only students in our building that will be learning math through a virtual and interactive math learning lab! With a grant from our school district learning community, I was able to transform my classroom into comfortable space for students to learn and grow! Since we are a 1:1 Chromebook school, my students will be engaging in online math curriculum which is fun and engaging, and incorporates real world examples to help connect math to their daily lives!
My Project
My math classroom has been transformed into an interactive learning environment for scholars! Even though there are an array of seating possibilities for scholars to engage and learn (bean bag seating, high tables, rolling desks, etc) I want to be sure to provide all of my scholars with ways to engage that fits the needs of all learners!
I am seeking to incorporate stationary learning bikes in my classrooms for scholars that have a difficult time sitting for long periods of time with little movement.
This will give scholars the opportunity to learn and exercise at the same time !
