My Project
We have all sat through a dry history class at least once in our lives with long boring stories, names and dates that are never remembered, and endless readings and papers. These essential materials will ensure that my students will never have any of those experiences in my class! I hope that by fostering a love and appreciation of history in middle school my students will continue this into high school and beyond.
I focus on making history come alive through simulations, projects/posters, and more.
I encourage my students to be as creative as they can be and have noticed that in doing this, they deepen their understanding of the content. With these markers, colored pencils, and pencils, I can give my students even more opportunities to be creative and explore history.
Last year my students created their own countries and drew maps in our geography unit. They drew comics about Mongol war tactics during our Asia unit. They even made travel brochures for ancient North American civilizations. Using these supplies, the opportunities are limitless for what my students can create.
