Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an ESL teacher working with newcomer students, I strive to create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Headphones help them practice listening and speaking skills at their own pace, while board games offer fun, low-pressure ways to build vocabulary and connect with peers. Basic classroom supplies ensure every student has the tools they need to participate confidently. These resources will support students’ English development while also fostering a sense of community, belonging, and joy as they adjust to a new language and school environment.
