This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I have two groups of students as well as virtual and in person students in both classes. It is a challenge to do both without the necessary supplies that my district unfortunately cannot provide.
My students are in a dual language program, learning both Spanish and English.
A lot of these students live in poverty and have huge gaps in their education prior to coming to the United States.
My Project
I currently have students that are at home streaming the class virtually as well as in person students. As a teacher this is an incredibly challenging task but my students deserve the best instruction possible! Currently my students stream through Zoom, while we are both using Chromebooks. If I walk away from the computer my virtual students cannot hear me, especially through a mask.
I need a document camera to present to the students at home and in the classroom at the same time.
I need a microphone so my students at home can hear me as I walk around the room. I need a camera for students at home to stream instruction.
Masks break daily and I am constantly trying to find a mask for a student. My students need reusable masks for when they break.
