This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over seventy-seven percent of our students receiving free lunch. Our students speak a multitude of languages. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are also diverse in their academics as well.

My students are an enthusiastic, eager group of third-grade students who come from very diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our school is a Title One school. My students are excited about learning and want to do well. Our class includes gifted learners, English language learners and students with academic disabilities.

My Project

There are so many ways this easel will be useful. The large board allows students to see at a distance. The magnetic board lets us display math frames, magnetic letters, and anchor charts. This easel will be an interactive tool where students can clearly see their thinking and demonstrate their learning on a large surface.

An easel is an important learning tool, as it assists in displaying student thinking, step-by-step methods, sharing writing in Writer's Workshop, and learning strategies in Math.

An easel helps all students see virtually on camera a demonstration of strategies. Our lessons usually begin with a mini-lesson where information, strategies, and diagrams are displayed with the use of an easel. This easel will be the center of our classroom, we will use it multiple times throughout the day in all subjects. Having the chart paper and painting canvases with help with creating permanent learning tools that demonstrate ideas that students will use frequently in daily lessons. It will enable me to create a permanent tool that I can readily post and use for reminding and reteaching.

Having this easel in the classroom will help make our instruction interactive for all. It will provide accommodations to all our students leading to success.
