My Project
Mindfulness journals, engaging art supplies, sensory manipulatives, and mindfulness coloring books are materials needed to help high school students learn grounding, coping, and mindfulness strategies. We are requesting a Calm down corner classroom kit, Liquid Motion Bubbler Timer, Marble Maze Mat, Crayola Play Foam, and more. Through counseling sessions, students are able to learn to identify sources of stress and worry, understand the physical impact of excessive worry, and learn coping techniques to reduce worry. Students will be encouraged to practice the strategies learned and to report back their success stories. My desire is that the techniques and strategies learned will become life-long skills that will help my students navigate the challenges of life more successfully.
