Learning Common Core Hands-On

My students need common core stations such as reading comprehension, writing response, and math open response questions to enhance the new common core standards.

My Students

One of the biggest challenges my students face daily is understanding the new common core standards for all subject areas. The challenge I am facing is finding the right materials to provide them with to be successful in implementing the common core standards.

I have a variety of different learning levels in my classroom but every student has the willingness to learn and be successful.

My school is a Title I school with a high poverty index. Many of my students' only source of learning materials such as educational games and hands-on activities come from my classroom. Their willingness to learn is my motivation to teach and find funding for the resources they need to help them be successful learners.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting are common core stations such as open response math games, nonfiction writing response cards, comprehension stories, and many other wonderful learning experiences. These resources will be used daily in the classroom for small group stations. They will allow students to work independently and share their work with the fellow classmates at the end of each station.

These stations would provide my students with many ways to incorporate common core standards in fun, yet educational way!

It would bring common core to life with visuals and hands-on supplies.
