My Project

Our class consists of an amazing group of Kindergarten and First grade students with autism. Our students are non-verbal and are still learning to communicate through the use of the AAC devices, using gestures, or using their voices. Because we are working with them on communicating their needs, having differentiated learning centers is extremely important so we are able to reach all of the students on their individual learning levels.

When working with students with autism that are primarily non-verbal, it is so important to use different materials and learning tools in centers that can be catered to meet the needs of these individual students.

Having hands-on and tactile materials give these students a way to demonstrate their ability and to complete tasks. By obtaining these new materials, I will be able to create a fun learning experience for all students in the classroom.
