My Students
Every student deserves a teacher that is fully invested in providing a quality, engaging, and long-lasting education; I want to be that teacher. I teach in a Title 1 school where the vast majority of the students are on free or reduced lunch. I would love to be able to provide my students access to socially safe and fun learning tools that they may not have at home. With more than 50% minority students, our school enjoys a fun multi-cultural environment. It is wonderful to have many from different backgrounds all learn under the same roof but it comes with language challenges. I would love to provide more hands on learning.

My Project
In kindergarten, everyday we rotate in small groups to different centers. These centers include handwriting, math, language arts, science, dramatic play, art, and reading. The kindergarten classroom needs a good size collection of hands-on learning materials to explore in these small groups.
The addition of a reading sofa would be so delightful for my students and a perfect place to enjoy a book during their reading center.
The life-cycle supplies fits perfectly in our science curriculum and would create an engaging center. The wooden word spinners would be fantastic in a small reading group.
An important part of kindergarten is dramatic play to gain social skills. A center with Mr. Potato Head, Magnatiles, cars, marble runs, and hopscotch can create an opportunity for my students to interact and learn.
