This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher at EE. Our school is a tittle one school located in a low income/high poverty area in Arizona. My students are faced with many obstacles and challenges on a daily basics in and out of the classroom. I strive to provide my students with the best and ideal learning environment.
In kindergarten we spend most of our time on the floor learning to work together, read, listen to stories, share ideas, and much more.
We currently have no rug or a space in the "carpet area" for our class to meet as a whole which makes large group/circle time learning much more difficult.
We are in need of a learning rug. I have found the perfect rug that would make our learning much easier and a comfortable place to learn. This carpet will help my students work together, build a community all while having their own space to learn.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and will benefit many generations to come. Thank you!
My Project
The learning carpet will provide my students with a square they can have to call their own, keep in mind at this stage they are very self centered. This will help them learn by feeling comfortable in their own space while also building a community. Instruction will be more welcoming for the kids and more organized. This will be beneficial when we share our ideas with our shoulder partners and as a whole. We will appreciate any donations. Please keep in mind that this learning carpet will help many generations to come. Thank you for your help, consideration, and support.
