My Students

"The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn't being said." - Peter Drucker In my room, we not only work on building communication skills but establishing strong relationships. I hope to create a learning environment for my students where they feel comfortable and safe.

I work at a Title I elementary school in Baltimore City.

My school has a strong emphasis on collaboration between the school, parents, and the community to best support our children. The teachers and staff are highly motivated to reach our goal of having all students college and career ready.

My Project

I use a majority of literacy-based and play-based interventions to address my students' language goals. We often sit as a group on the floor during therapy when listening to stories or playing with our toys. This format allows the children to sit comfortably, have a clear view of materials, and move around easily as needed.

The carpet would make my classroom a much more comfortable environment for learning.

It will help me move toward my goal of creating a comfortable and safe environment where children are excited to learn and grow.
