Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are three- and four-year-olds who love to learn. They are eager to explore through hands-on activities, and I'm eager to engage them in meaningful play experiences to foster lifelong learning experiences. They range in different levels of academic achievement including language development, and about 50% are English language learners.
Our school is an early childhood center whose motto is to spread a love of learning and respect for one another.
Learning can only take place when our students care about their school and friends. Caring for your friends and teachers starts with role models so that students take pride in their school and learning will naturally occur.
My Project
These materials will be used in the classroom to capture learning experiences during meaningful play experiences. The pictures will be displayed in the classroom to create time lines, and capture students working on activities as they happen in real time.
Instant pictures create a photographic story of learning.
I will utilize the materials to work on projects to create a story of their learning. Students in all academic levels will be invited to talk about their experience to foster language development. The images will then be sent home for the students to share with their families.
