My Students
The transition from elementary to middle school, sixth grade students may be intimidated by a bigger campus, more students, multiple teachers and classes, in an unfamiliar school. As a sixth grade teacher, I create an environment that is warm and welcoming for all my students. My goal is to make this time a stress free time for the incoming, sixth graders.
My students are a mixture of many different backgrounds on all different academic levels.
My goal for the students is the challenge them academically in math and sciences without ever compromising their character. My vision is to develop lifelong learners who continue to challenge themselves to change the world.
My Project
Students will use these items to be engaged in learning through play. These items are critical for student engagement as well as ownership in the lesson. Students will have the responsibility to learn to work in teams and trust one another with gathering data. Students will be using stopwatches to get data for time and the tape measure to measure distance.
This shows students how to apply what we learn in the classroom in their everyday life.
These will also be used in many other lessons that deals with gathering data and calculations in game form.
