This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Understanding and retaining core concepts in school is vital to learning. My students do not learn by hearing, but by doing. Providing them with games that address state standards will allow them to learn by playing.

I teach 4th and 5th grade students with multiple disabilities in a self-contained classroom.

Our school is located in a low-income area with a majority of second language learners. My students are greatly challenged when attempting to access grade level curriculum. Many struggle to retain concepts and therefore perform far below grade level. While they are eager to learn new things, they need additional supports to access the core curriculum and meet grade level standards.

My Project

I am requesting literacy, math, and science game sets that will reinforce key concepts and help my students develop stronger skills in these areas. These resources will give them access to the core curriculum and help them understand and apply concepts in their daily lives. Playing games will also help my students develop stronger social skills and teach them cooperation in groups.

These resources are important to my students' development of key concepts.

The games will reinforce what they are learning in the classroom and help them meet grade level standards using different modalities. In addition, they will have opportunities to develop social and cooperative learning skills.
