Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from richly diverse racial, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds, and many are working hard to overcome academic gaps due to limited access to at-home learning resources. As a Title I school serving a predominantly low-income and multilingual community, it's not uncommon for students to lack educational materials outside the classroom. Despite these barriers, my students show up ready to learn every day. What they need most is equitable access to tools that let them continue that learning journey at home, with materials that affirm their abilities and support their growth.
These Brain Quest 2nd Grade Workbooks will provide each student with their own resource to practice reading, math, and critical thinking skills outside of school.
Having a physical workbook to call their own empowers students to take ownership of their learning in an accessible, screen-free way. These workbooks are also designed with inclusive language and diverse characters, helping students see themselves reflected in their learning materials. My goal is to bridge the gap between school and home, ensuring that all students, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, have the support they need to thrive academically and feel confident in their identity as learners.
