Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When the pandemic began in March 2020, learning shifted remotely, propelling my students and I into the Google Workspace, ready or not. We quickly had to learn how to navigate Google Workspace so that we could continue teaching and learning. Last year, instruction at our school was entirely remote for most of the school year for all students until March when some students returned in-person while the rest continued learning remotely. This school year we are back in the classroom, but we've had to flip to remote when necessary, meaning the need for more digital learning that will now become a new standard of learning even when back in the classroom permanently. We've learned as we've gone, but we never truly had the proper training to learn the inner workings of Google Workspace.
Taking "One Stop Shop: Online Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides and Forms for your Classroom" online professional development course through Learners Edge will provide me with the proper training to more effectively integrate Google Workspace into teaching and learning to make teaching with technology work in our learning space!
With this training, I will be better able to design lessons using Google Workspace applications like Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Forms. I have learned on my own how to use Google Docs to create digital worksheets, Google Slides to create interactive digital activities, and Google Forms to create digital assessments, but I am interested in learning from experts in the education field how I can creatively use these applications to our benefit even more.
Technology is meant to make our lives easier and I am excited to learn how to make teaching and learning in the digital workspace more efficient and productive for my students and me. Once I do, learning will truly be at our fingertips!
