My Students

I am an Early Childhood Special Education teacher at an amazing specialty school that serves students with multiple disabilities.

I am lucky to be the teacher of 20 incredible 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds with various disabilities including Autism, Down syndrome cerebral palsy, and more.

Most of my students are nonverbal and communicate through pictures, gestures, or AAC devices. In my classroom, we focus on teaching communication, social-emotional, play and independent functioning skills in addition to academics. Each day, my students come ready and excited to learn new things. I am truly honored to be their teacher and look forward to helping them grow throughout the year. Thank you for considering donating to an amazing group of students.

My Project

My district recently announced that we will be starting off this school year with remote learning. I am hoping to make each of my students a little bag filled with hands on materials that they can use at home while completing remote learning. In preschool, nearly every activity is hands on or play based and this can be challenging when doing remote learning.

I want to make sure that all of my students have access to some hands on materials and manipulatives to continue to learn and grow at home.

One of the most important items on my donors choose list is math manipultives for my students. With these materials, they will be able to work on color/shape identification, sorting, counting, patterns and so much more. In addition, I am asking for art materials for my students. We use dot markers, card stock paper, play-doh, and tissue paper in the classroom on a daily basis and want to make sure that my students continue to have these materials to make beautiful works of art at home.
