My Students
My students are bursting with energy and have a strong desire to grow and learn.
The majority of my students are Native American and due to the low socioeconomic area we live in, 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school.
I am aware of the challenges many of my students face and I make sure that when they walk through my classroom door, they are all given an equal opportunity to learn in a positive, encouraging environment.
My Project
My students spend the majority of their day learning in different areas on our classroom. I'd like to give them more tools for choosing seating and learning options. The rug will create a new spot for students to sit while learning by our classroom window. They'll be able to use the pillows to plop in cozy spot to work with their clipboards. The folding seats will give a more structured spot for students who like to sit up and have back support. I think it is important for students to have a choice in how they learn best which also allows them to take ownership of their own learning.
