My Students
I have 12 unique and creative students every year in grades 3, 4 and 5 with developmental challenges and disabilities. All of my students are served with an Individualized Education Plan and come from all levels of income.
We celebrate inclusion and positive character building.
As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to become included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.
In order to off-set their back to school expenses, I have decided to ask donor choose to help purchase needed items for my classroom.
My Project
The products I have chosen will be used as part of our daily rotational centers. As I work with a small reading group, the other students can be independently working at the media center, letter/word development center and game center. We will rotate every 20 minutes to keep them actively engaged while making learning fun!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student reading readiness, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
The best way to increase reading ability is by learning the alphabet and its sounds. The activities chosen will help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word in a fun environment.
