it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are eager and very enthusiastic learners. From the moment they step foot into the classroom they are ready to learn and conquer the day head on. The bulk of our morning activities and lessons such as ELD, Phonemic Awareness, Read Alouds, and ELA are done whole-group, seated on the rug.
Our current rug is old, dirty, and worn.
This new, spacious rug, with individualized squares, will help my students quickly find their personal space on the rug, and also help eliminate any unnecessary bickering that sometimes occurs when they do not have enough space to comfortably call their own.
This type of rug is a must in every Kindergarten classroom, as well as the dust mop, the mop and bucket floor cleaning system, and the carpet and floor sweeper! Throughout the day, especially during BIC (Breakfast In the Classroom), spills often occur and clean-up is needed. When I have to call for clean-up, it takes away from instructional time and causes disruption to our daily schedule.
These cleaning supplies will help eliminate disruption, help keep our classroom tidy and neat, and provide my students with a clean environment to learn and play, each and every day!
