This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently have a group of 23 fabulous second graders in a dual language classroom. They live in a low income, high poverty stricken inner city community in northern New Jersey. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom due to their socioeconomic status and their varying linguistic abilities. Despite this, they are ready, willing and excited to learn! They tackle challenges and strive to do their best. They are resilient, respectful, and hardworking students.

My Project

These materials will provide my students a hands on experience while learning from home during this Pandemic. The place value, based 10 manipulatives will provide the students the opportunity to visualize math since they do not have these resources at home.

Individualized Hands on math packets to explore place value safely while learning at home is just what my students need during this time.

The other math resources will also be used by me while I instruct the students remotely. Help my students explore, engage, and interact with number sense during math. They can be successful while learning from home.
