Help me give my students dry erase boards, markers, and supplies for Algebra. Somehow even the most reluctant learners find the motivation to work when we have the whiteboards out!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my school are very diverse. I have students who have grown up all over the country, and I have other students who have never left our state. Students speak multiple languages at home, and some students are still learning English.
One thing all of my students have in common is that their high school diploma will open doors to the future—doors that may not have been available to their parents and grandparents.
One of the biggest hurdles for students is the fact that Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and a fourth year of math, are requirements for graduation.
Our students are kind citizens. Instead of a senior prank, our senior class participates in 'Prank it Forward,' where they pay it forward and raise money for a community member in need. Whether it's a fellow classmate battling cancer, an elementary school student with an undiagnosed medical ailment, or a family who has experienced a tragedy, our students believe in kindness and inclusion. These are the role models that my freshmen look up to, and as they get their turn as seniors, those are the shoes they have to fill.
My Project
Like it or not, Algebra requires a lot of practice. So, we try to keep things engaging and interactive in the classroom. My students love working on the whiteboards.
Everyone has a little more pep in their step when the whiteboards come out.
Some students will work on the whiteboards independently, others will discuss problems with their table mates. Students are, without a doubt, more engaged and willing to take chances when working on the whiteboards.
As we go through each unit, I keep copies of extra practice worksheets out for students to work through. By the end of the unit, they're all in a random mess, students have written on them accidentally, and it's a time-consuming task for students to find the one they want to practice. Having color-coded paper sleeves will allow me to keep that station organized and will help students to efficiently grab the practice problems they need. And, they can work the problems right on the paper sleeve!
The graphing whiteboards will be used throughout the year. In Algebra, we graph almost every week - linear functions, systems, inequalities, quadratics, exponential, radical... the list goes on and on! Having access to whiteboard graphs will be extremely exciting for students, as it is hard to do whiteboard activities without a graph!
