This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom of 25 curious, enthusiastic, and bright young learners! I teach in a small charter school where students' learning is strengthened by the relationships they make with their peers and our community. They come to the classroom each day ready to think outside the box and try something new!

My students come to school ready to engage with new books, concepts, and adventures.

I want to keep them connected to our community, the world, and their peers!

My Project

The use of Scholastic News articles will help keep my first graders engaged in reading while also learning about the world! My students are bright and curious learners who love making connections. These weekly articles will be used as a supplemental reading activity every week. My teaching is done through small group rotations and mini lessons. These articles will be a fantastic reading station every week that I know my students will look forward to!
