Learning about Syria & Giving Art to Syrian Orphans!
Help me give my students the opportunity to create art for orphans in Syria with the Memory Project that delivers the art and then sends back a video of the delivery in Syria at the orphanage.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
6th grade art rotation introduction to art this year is learning about contributing to the betterment of the world. With the art they create and give, they learn to be a positive contributing member of the world community.
It's a lot in one art project but that is what students do in the art room.
This is tied in with art concepts as well and fits in with the national standards for 6th grade art. Students give what they create with this project, and they also learn about Syria and how people live in poverty there. 6th graders are only in art rotation for 10 weeks and so making puzzles for Syrian orphans covers and ties together what art class is about. Without Donors Choose, this Title One school could not do this project.
