This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students are learning about art history and prehistoric art is the first unit of study that art students will learn about. Students will study cave paintings and rock paintings in Spain and France first then they will each get a rock to paint like the prehistoric rocks they are studying with this DonorsChoose project. They will view prehistoric art and with that knowledge create their own prehistoric rock painting. The rocks will be shellacked and will go home and in their gardens.
Reading, viewing, then creating what students learned about prehistoric rock painting is a memorable way of learning art history.
