This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our little learners often struggle with big feelings and learning how to manage them is a very important skill. In my Pre-K class we do this by teaching about each kind of feeling and what it looks like. We also talk about what we can do when we have feelings that we don't like.
These materials will help me provide this instruction through play, which is the most effective way for this age group to learn.
They can use the feelings dolls to act out different types of feelings. Things like the sensory viewers and the cuddly puppy wrap will be used when students feel they need to calm down. These materials will be in our "Cozy Corner" which is where students go when they feel overwhelmed and want to relax.
All of these materials will help my students learn about their feelings and help them learn how to regulate those feelings.
