My Students

All of my students live in a large city in Michigan and receive free lunch. Many of my students come to me speaking little or no English. Here, at our wonder school, there is something for everyone. Even the parents like to engage in our learning opportunities.

My students don't like sitting around, they like to be engaged and to explore new things.

As their teacher, I would like to make available a wide variety of learning materials so they can engage and learn in a variety of ways. I also want to make sure they are well fed so the can concentrate on learning and not hunger pains.

My Project

This project is designed to introduce the children to important roles that community helpers play in our daily lives. The dress-up outfits will allow the children to act out the role of firefighter, doctor, caregiver, and nurse. The Duplo farm block set will allow the children to create and pretend to manage a farm and farm animals.

The process of pretend play builds skills in many essential development areas.

When entering into play the children actively experiment with the social and emotional roles of life. Students will build their self esteem by pretending using the baby doll bottles, clothes and blankets.
